"European Tomato, A Red Passion”: Official Launch at the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok.

The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) had the honour of hosting the official press conference for “European Tomato, A Red Passion”, a European Union-funded campaign promoted by OI Pomodoro Centro Sud.

The campaign, designed to run across Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore over the next two years, aims to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of EU processed tomato products by focusing on their quality, safety, traceability, and sustainability.

Moderated by Mr. Giacomo Iobizzi, Secretary General of TICC, the event featured distinguished speakers such as Mr. Guglielmo Vaccaro, President of OI Pomodoro Centro Sud, and Mr. Michele Sabatino, Director General of Euroconsult Sicilia, the agency executing the campaign. Together, they outlined the strategy and goals behind this high-impact agri-food initiative.

The press conference welcomed a selected audience of journalists, importers, Ho.Re.Ca. professionals, institutional guests, and media representatives, reflecting the growing regional interest in European food excellence.

Following the conference, guests enjoyed a live cooking show by Chef Ermanno Lelli, who prepared a traditional Italian pasta dish using OI Pomodoro products — a true expression of Mediterranean simplicity and flavor.

Continuing the Mission: THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025
From 27 to 31 May, the campaign moved to THAIFEX Anuga Asia, Southeast Asia’s leading food and beverage trade exhibition. OI Pomodoro Centro Sud participated with a dedicated booth (L.43 – Hall 6), joining several TICC member companies in showcasing Italian agri-food excellence to an international audience.
