Ended with successful the "Sicilian Fish on The Road 2012" Gala Dinner hosted by TICC on February 2, at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok. This event was an opportunity to discover the great taste and quality of fish from Sicily Region, Italy in its four(4) course dinner. The dinner featured specialty dishes based on Sicilian " blue fish" and cooking demonstration of the featured dishes cooked by Chef Natale Giunta, winner of the " Ospitalita' Italiana" award and frequent performance on Italian television. Sicilian blue fish was flash-frozen in Sicily and shipped to Bangkok just before dinner. "Sicilian Fish on the Road" was organized by TICC on behalf of the Sicily Region, with support of the European Fisheries Fund. The goal is to promote the Sicilian fish and seafood, an abundant that can be productively exported to South East Asia including Thailand.

The Bridge of Hope " A Special Christmas for Children in Need" Charity Dinner was held on Tuesday December 15, at Swissotel Nai Lert Park. The initiative was a fund raising occasion intended to provide support to the Camillian Home of Lat Krabang. This institution is committed to serving orphaned children suffering from HIV/AIDS and other physical or mental disabilities. This year, the Charity Dinner focused on Christmas and the meaning of Mercy. The dinner, prepared by five renowned Italian chefs, started with a traditional Thai dance, followed by Christmas carols, the choir by children. An Auction and a Lucky Draw concluded the evening.

On Monday 19th of September 2011 The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce signed an important MOU for future collaboration with Bioagricoop Scrl and the Queen Sirikit Department of Sericulture of Thailand. This MOU aims at strengthening the economic cooperation between EU and Thailand by supporting small and medium sized Thai enterprises in the silk sector, in order to help them increase their capacity to apply self control systems and reach standards for EU Certification.

In the framework of the Campus Abroad program that Bocconi University organizes in co-operation with partner universities around the world, more than 30 students attending the second year of their degree in Economics met the highest representatives from the Department of Intellectual Property and the ECAP III (ASEAN Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights). After the opening speech delivered by Khun Pajchima Tanasanti, Director General of DIP, the Head of International Cooperation, Mr. Pornvit Sila-On, and the ECAP III Project Director Stephane Passeri respectively presented an Overview of Intellectual Property System in Thailand and the IP relevance as a tool for economic development and integration in ASEAN. The meeting, that saw the active and responding participation of Bocconi students to the discussion, was held in the Ministry of Commerce headquarters in Bangkok and organized with the support of the Thai Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC).

Festa della Repubblica (Festivity of the Republic) is celebrated in Italy on the second of June each year. The day commemorates the institutional referendum held during the 1946 in which for the first time all Italian people, men and women, were called to the polls to decide on the form of government, after the end of the Fascism and the Second World War. Though controversies about irregularities in counting the votes were numerous, the Monarchy was officially dismissed and Italy was declared a Republic. The Italian Embassy in Thailand, like every year, had the honor to organize an event to celebrate this important recurrence.

Thailand SME Expo 2011 has been held the 10-13 of March at the IMPACT, Challenger 2 with the aim of promoting the partnership and the business opportunities for the Small and Medium Enterprise creating a networking space between firms from the most different kind of business. The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) were present at the exhibition showing at the participants the activities of both the institutions and promoting the opportunities that the Italian market can offer to the small and medium companies in Thailand. TICC had just successfully concluded the Pro-GIs European Project with the Final Seminar taking place on October 6 at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok. The project was a joint collaboration effort between TICC, the Thai Department of intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce, and Bioagricoop. he Thai-Italian, Franco-Thai, Danish-Thai, and Thai-Canadian Chambers of Commerce, in collaboration with KPMG organized a Joint Chambers Lunch Talk on 14th September entitled "ROH Tax Incentives - A New Standard?" The luncheon took place in Conference Room of the KPMG Office, on the 48th Floor of the Empire Tower on Sathorn Road. The distinguished participants, which included CEOs, CFOs and Managing Directors of many well-known companies, enjoyed a 3-course meal followed by a presentation on ROH Tax Incentives given by Mr. Graeme Sheard, Tax Partner of KPMG Phoomchai Tax Ltd. The event, which was fully sponsored by KPMG, ended successfully and the guests took away valuable information which will enable them to assess the merits of establishing a Regional Operating Headquarters (ROH) and other proposed incentives in Thailand.

On Friday September 17, the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce welcomed a group of 17 International MBA students from Ramkamhaeng University Institute of International Studies (IIS). After a welcome speech by TICC President, Mr. Ekkamon Hutasingh, Mr. Luca Vianelli, TICC Vice President talked about the Chamber and illustrated in details current and future projects. His extensive experience in doing business in Thailand gave the students a valuable opportunity to deepen and further their knowledge on the Thai market. After the short break, Mr. Sandro Zanello, TICC Secretary General , focused on the two important projects of TICC, namely Marketing of Italian Wine in Asia and the Pro-GIs European Project. Afterwards, Ms. Nalina Sutakul, TICC Membership Manager and Trade Analyst, gave the students a short overview of TICC membership database as well as the various benefits provided for TICC members. At the end the students thanked all TICC staff and presented TICC President with a Ramkamhaeng University Institute of International Studies pennant.
